Castle Tollet

Situated close to the district town of Grieskirchen on a hill in the Trattnachtal valley, Tollet Castle is the landmark of the community of the same name.

The first documented reference of the fortification goes back to the year 1170, to the possession of Count Ortolf von Tollet. After several changes of ownership, Tollet came into the possession of the Jörgers (1400 to 1625). The castle was rebuilt in 1607 in the Renaissance style.
